Context

Starting on July 1st, 2022, the Norwegian Transparency Act became effective. The Act is designed to promote respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions in the production of goods and the provision of services by enterprises. As a multinational enterprise, Norwex Group takes pride in its Norwegian heritage and core values of Trust, Integrity, and Respect. Therefore, we strive to implement transparent due diligence process in our operations and supply chain to promote respect for human rights and decent working conditions.

Organization

Norwex Group is a privately owned enterprise that provides sustainable consumer products for everyday life. Our three product ranges are home textiles, household cleaning products, and personal care products. Norwex Group operates two manufacturing facilities, one based in Dallas, USA, and one in Suzhou, China.

Commitment and Guidelines

Norwex Group is fully committed to respecting human rights and labor rights within its factories and throughout its supply chain. Our approach to human rights is documented in the Executive Manual, signed by all our employees, and Supplier Manual. Norwex China, our subsidiary in China and one of our primary suppliers, is a signatory of the UN Global Compact, including its principles on human rights, labor rights, environment, and anti-corruption. Our guiding principles are also aligned with the principles in the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and UN's Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights.

Supplier Due Diligence Process

When sourcing new suppliers, Norwex Group considers human rights, labor rights, environmental, and sustainable practices as crucial elements of the screening process. Our suppliers commit to operating in compliance with local labor laws and international standards. We conduct regular follow-up dialogues, audits, and evaluations to ensure that our suppliers uphold their commitments. In case of deviations, we implement time-sensitive action plans to address any issues.

Result in 2022 and targets for 2023

During our past audits, no significant deviations have been observed. In 2023 we plan to strengthen further our commitment by having all our suppliers sign on the new updated Supplier manual. Norwex Group will as well become a signatory of the UN Global Compact initiative.
